Leadership Development Programs
AzHHA firmly believes that strong leadership is essential to the delivery of quality healthcare in Arizona. As a result, the Association supports some healthcare-specific leadership programs. These programs are designed to help healthcare professionals of member organizations acquire the advanced skills they need to meet new challenges and effect positive change in their hospital environments:
Emerging Healthcare Leaders program - 2012 class of participants announced

This program is designed for small groups of highly motivated and extremely talented Arizona emerging healthcare leaders. The Emerging Leaders curriculum combines core leadership competency working sessions with multiple layers of applied practice in healthcare. Participants also receive one-on-one executive coaching, mentoring and a personal skills assessment. Arizona Healthcare Leadership Academy
The Arizona Healthcare Leadership Academy is a partnership between The University of Arizona College of Nursing, Eller College of Management, Arizona Nurses Association and the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association. Its goal is to develop leaders who have the confidence and skills to improve the quality of the healthcare work environment.
The Academy is two-tiered program, each tier consisting of four education days, designed to teach fundamental (Tier I) and advanced (Tier II) leadership skills to professionals in the healthcare industry. Participants receive 26.4 contact hours from the Arizona Nurses Association upon program completion.
The Academy also offers a new Directors Only program. Participants receive 22.5 contact hours from the Arizona Nurses Association upon program completion. For more information about the Leadership Academy visit
